Bhaktivedanta Institute, a non-profit organization with its registered office at Kolkata, India, has been spearheading the academic campaign towards a mature understanding of the reality through the integration of modern science, philosophy and spirituality (Vedanta).

Dr. T. D. Singh (His Holiness Srila Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami) was the founding director of the Bhaktivedanta Institute. He was one of the prominent disciples of His Divine Grace Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, who appointed him as the founding director to carry out the mission of the Bhaktivedanta Institute. For nearly three decades Dr. T. D. Singh worked tirelessly and revolutionized the scientific and intellectual thought towards the synthesis of science-spirituality, a field in which he has been regarded as a pioneer in the learned circles. The Certificate and Diploma Programs have been carefully designed based on his guidelines, dialogues, instructions and writings. Dr. T. D. Singh had lots of concern for the younger generation of the country and always conveyed to safeguard their interests in a holistic perspective. It is anticipated that the Certificate and Diploma Courses serve his legacy in the context of holistic engineering and evolution of human consciousness through an amalgamation of applied spirituality, pure philosophy and empiricism.

His Divine Grace Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami is a unique visionary saint for the modern scientific age. Bhaktivedanta Institute (BI) was founded by His Divine Grace, who also established the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) and International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Following the instructions, guidelines and writings of His Divine Grace, the launched Science-Spirituality based Certificate and Diploma Courses remain as an important milestone in the activity of the Bhaktivedanta Institute.
