Honorary Director

Prof. Ramagopal V. S. Uppaluri serves as Honorary Director of the Department of Distance Education, BI Kolkata. He is responsible for curriculum design and overall administration and organization of the offered Certificate and Diploma Courses. He contributed enormously towards the video lectures on science and spirituality at the Institute.

By Profession, Prof. Uppaluri is a senior Professor (Grade Pay Level 15) in Chemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). He received B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) from Andhra University; M.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) from IIT Kanpur and Ph.D. (Process Integration) from University of Manchester. After a brief tenure of Post Doctoral Research at Robert Gordon University, Scotland, he joined IIT Guwahati as a faculty of Chemical Engineering. Prof. Uppaluri eventually became the youngest Professor of the institute in a very short span of time. He enormously contributed to Chemical Engineering Education and Research at IIT Guwahati. Notable among these are Research Methodology and Scientific Writing Course, Refinery Process Design Course, Pedagogical course on Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals and Virtual Mass Transfer Lab. He was awarded several R&D projects by DST, DBT, CSIR and was a Consultant to IOCL and NTPC. He as well contributed towards a web course on Chemical Process Technology. As an able administrator, he served as the first Professor-in-Charge of Green Office of IIT Guwahati. He was instrumental as the Founding Academic Coordinator of the first Indo-Japan Joint M.Tech. in Food Science and Technology between IIT Guwahati and Gifu University, Japan. Till date, Prof. Uppaluri enabled 17 scholars to receive PhD degrees under his supervision and published 140 International Journal Publications, 4 Indian Patents, and two Conference Proceedings on Food Processing Technologies and Bio-diversity Conservation in North-east India. Presently, he is supervising 18 PhD scholars in diverse fields of engineering sciences including environmental science, agro-rural technology, food processing and product design, applied computational science, Indian Knowlegdge Systems etc.,

During his M.Tech. tenure, he was very fortunate to meet Dr. T. D. Singh at IIT Kanpur and eventually became his student in the field of science-spirituality and applied spirituality. Eventually, he received formal training from his mentor for about a decade to learn and master the principles, foundations and application of science-spirituality synthesis for the betterment of personality traits of the humankind and world peace. Eventually, he became inspired with the AISSQ conference series being organized by Bhaktivedanta Institute after the physical departure of Dr T. D. Singh. Thereby, inspired with his mentor’s interest to educate the younger generation, he worked along with few other members of the Bhaktivedanta Institute for about 15 years to formalize academic programs in science-spirituality. Such educational content has been prepared with the writings of Dr. T. D. Singh and world famous Bhagavad Gita as it is authored by Sri Bhaktivedanta Swami (Founder Acharya of the Bhaktivedanta Institute). Prof. Uppaluri also has expertise in Bhagavad Gita education (Successful Life Journey – Insights based on Bhagavad Gita and Yoga and Spirituality – Explorations from Bhagavad Gita) and has designed two Certificate Courses on Bhagavad Gita for the younger generation. Besides this, he also has deeper knowledge and realizations in the subjects of Spirituality of World Religions, Western and Vedantic Philosophy, Vedanta and Science. Till date, through the Online Courses of the Bhaktivedanta Institute, the Department of Distance Education at BI Kolkata provided virtual learning for 100 scholars in the field of science-spirituality, applied Vedanta and traditional wisdom. Deputy Director

Sri Segar Millindar serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Distance Education, Bhaktivedanta Institute, Kolkata. He has outstanding contributions towards the curriculum design and video lectures of the Management and Applied Spirituality Modules in the Certificate and Diploma courses of the Bhaktivedanta Institute.

Mr Millindar received B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UVCE Bangalore. He also holds e-Master degree in Bio-informatics and an MBA. After his B.Tech. tenure, he served the national carrier Air India for 25 years and eventually took voluntary retirement in 2015 as Assistant General Manager. Later, prior to his career as an Aviation Consultant, he had short stints in various startups, and partnership companies. He as well has about 15 years of working experience in IT consultancy, solution development and operations. Currently, he is freelancing as an aviation consultant. He as well presently serves as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) in VAUTECH, a drone services company. and as one of the Board of Directors of NVIERA Technologies, a Block chain based products and solution providing company in Bengaluru.

He is an Advanced Pranic healer and Pranic Psychotherapist. He was deeply inspired with the works of Dr. T. D. Singh, a visionary saint and pioneer in the synthesis of science and spirituality and study of Consciousness within sciences. Eventually, he was formally initiated into the Bhaktivedanta tradition by Dr. T. D. Singh and conducted many seminars, lectures, workshops on various topics in science and spirituality interface. Such long term academic interactions prompted him to contribute enormously towards the management and applied spirituality modules in the Certificate and Diploma courses on science and spirituality. As a charming personality, he inspires one and all to excel in personal and professional excellence through the confluence of Vedanta and Science.

Prof. Ramjee Repaka serves a Honorary Faculty of the Department of Distance Education, Bhaktivedanta Institute, Kolkata. His expertise in Holistic Health Management, Holistic Stress Management and Applied Vedanta based on Bhagavad Gita contributed enormously towards spirituality and philosophy of life integrated educational content in the video lectures in the mentioned Certificate and Diploma programs.

Prof. Ramjee Repaka is presently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Center for Biomedical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. He received his B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Andhra University; M.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur.  Prior to his academic tenure at IIT Ropar, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Rourkela. Dr Ramjee Repaka is also an Associate Editor for ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy. His research areas include Heat Transfer, Applied Thermal Engineering, Bioheat Transfer, Cancer Diagnosis and Therapy (RFA and MWA), Biofluid Mechanics and  Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

Dr Repaka is a student of Dr T.D Singh, Founder Director of Bhaktivedanta Institute, a visionary saint and scientist who has made extensive contributions to the synthesis of science and Spirituality. Dr Repaka, with the training based realizations and inspirations from Dr T D Singh, has assisted in the activities of Bhaktivedanta Institute in organizing several conferences, lectures, workshops on science and spirituality and their synthesis. Inspired with the academic contributions of Dr. T. D. Singh in the form of books, Monographs, Dialogues and Proceedings, Dr. Repaka voluntarily engages. in the curriculum design and development of the Certificate and Diploma Courses of the Bhaktivedanta Institute.

Sri Sravan Kumar Velisela

Dean, Outreach

Sri Sravan serves as the Dean (Outreach) of the Department of Distance Education, Bhaktivedanta Institute, Kolkata. Hailing from Vijayawada, Sravan holds B.Tech. (Electronics and Electrical Engineering) from Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering (presently at KL University) and M.Tech. (Power Electronics) from National Institute of Technology Tiruchirapalli. Thereafter, he served as Assistant Professor for seven years in Lakireddy Balreddy college of Engineering, Andhra Pradesh and taught both UG and PG students. Further, he also held several administrative responsibilities in this tenure.

In due course of his academic tenure, he received Certifications in “High Impact Teaching Skills” (Wipro) and “Outcome Based Pedagogic Principles for Effective Teaching” (NPTEL). He also published three conference articles in National Level Conference Proceedings. He was the Proceedings Committe Incharge in “International Conference on Advances in Power Conversion and Energy Technologies (APCET), 2012″, Co-sponsored by IEEE HYDERABAD. He is a Life Member of ISTE, IETE and an Associate Member of IE, India.

With deep interest in Spiritual Science & Synthesis of Modern Science and Spiritual Science, he joined Bhaktivedanta Institute Bangalore as the Organizing Secretary in Department of Holistic Education in 2018 and served for a span of two years with several responsibilities. From 2019, he is serving as Dean, Outreach at the Department of Distance Education, Bhaktivedanta Institute, Kolkata. Due to his continued engagement, the administration of the conducted online courses namely Enrollment, Liason, Co-ordination of online interactive sessions, timely sharing and evaluation of MCQ based Home Assignments have been conducted very efficiently by the Institute. As Dean (Outreach), he is furthering his efforts to further streamline, optimize and enhance online learning at Bhaktivedanta Institute, Kolkata.

Sri Ajaya Sahoo serves a Honorary Faculty of the Department of Distance Education, Bhaktivedanta Institute, Kolkata. Ajaya Sahoo received Master’s degree in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal university in 2007 and Master’s in Business Administration in Information Technology in 2014. Presently, he is serving as Technical Manager at Quest Global Solution, Bangalore. After his formal initiation into the Bhaktivedanta Institute, he was personally trained by his mentor Dr. T. D. Singh for a span of three years. Inspired with the personality of Dr. T. D. Singh and his saintly qualities, Ajaya Sahoo voluntarily engaged himself as a budding research scholar in the field of Vedanta and Science and Applied Spiritual Science and Technology.

Currently, he is serving the Institute’s mission at Bhaktivedanta Institute, Bangalore and serves as the Honorary Faculty at the Distance Education Department of Bhaktivedatanta Institute, Kolkata. His expertise in the field of Applied Spirituality and Vedanta is in the themes of Science of Happiness, Spirituality in Management, Value Education, Anger/Stress/Time Management, Positive Thinking, Art of Sense Control, Lust Control & Harnessing the power of Lust for best utilization, Artification Intelligence vs Human Inteligence, Consciousness vs Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks in Biology and Computer Science and their irreducibility to represent conscious cognizance.
