Course Description
Yoga became a very important subject of concern for the humankind in India and abroad due to its relevance to delve deeper into the experiences of the human consciousness with respect to the most sublime and transcendental aspects of the reality. From a physical perspective, Yoga refers to the regulatory exercises of the physical body and breathing. However, those who are advanced in Yoga advocate upon the controlling of the senses and especially the mind and thoughts. Alternate spiritual and religious orders and sublimity enhancing approaches advocate different forms of Yoga and henceforth alternate versions of spirituality.
Thereby, it is very important to visualize whether all these alternate versions of Yoga are inter-connected to one another through a ladder framework for the evolution of the human consciousness. Certain conceptions such as Nirvikalpa Samadhi (cessation of thought), action without mundane attachment and without transcendence, knowledge into the sublime aspects of the reality without differentiation and variegations need to be analyzed and verified upon their authentic status with respect to the most innate aspects of the one reality advocated in the spiritual domain.
Among various repositories available for Yoga leading to the most innate subject matter of spirituality, Bhagavad Gita remains the most important repositories due to being Lord Krsna being stated in the Bhagavad Gita as Yogeswara i.e., one who knows all Yogas and their hierarchy in perfection due to being the Isvara or God of the Yogas. Hence, the Certificate Course on Yoga and Spirituality will provide very useful directions to further research through experience and realizations on the subject matter of Yoga advancing to Spirituality. As the title conveys, the course is not any other course on Yoga and henceforth does not advocate on the Yoga being elucidated in the most common format in India i.e., Patanjali Astanga Yoga in the form of Pranayama and other Physical Excercises. Thus, the course delves deep into the Antardhana Yoga (inner or innate Yoga) but not the Bahiranga Yoga (external Yoga). Those who complete this course will be able to further enhance their research in Yoga through experience and realizations and can further enhance towards the distinction of human excellence and inner peace through the Yogic teachings elucidated in the Bhagavad Gita. Thereby, the entire Yogic ladder can be understood in the proper context and one’s own status in the ladder can be sought for further refinement in thought process and action.
