Long Term Certificate Courses (LCC)

The Long Term Certificate Courses (LCC, for a tenure of 9 months) are offered by the Bhaktivedanta Institute for those who wish to have slower yet steady training in the vast subject of science-spirituality and gradually become adept in the subject for furthering the research and educational front. As such science-spirituality is a relatively newer subject in modern education and the closest subject that reaches this is the philosophy in the Humanities and Social Sciences Discipline. However, science-spirituality is even beyond the subtlety offered in the philosophical study of life, matter and their interactions. Henceforth, those who wish to study this subject need to study it thoroughly for the dividends that they wish to acquire in their life. Few of these can be stated as follows. Firstly, a delegate may wish to do high end education/academic research in science-spirituality and for such a delegate, the LCC are ideal. Secondly, a delegate may wish to look forward for customized application of science-spirituality in either professional or personality or philosophical dimensions of human engagement. Accordingly, the LCC have been customized as a combination of other Certificate courses namely Foundations of Science and Spirituality (FSS); Nature of Reality (NR); Professional Excellence (PROFEX); Personal Excellence (PEREX) and Philosophical Excellence (PHILEX). The following Long Term Certificate Courses have been designed to meet the needs of the interested delegate:

1. Foundations and Applications of Science and Spirituality (FASS): The course content is equivalent to one semester (40 classes) of science-spirituality education and those who study the course can design their own curriculum. The course will have contents based on the three certificate courses namely Foundations of Science and Spirituality (FSS), Nature of Reality (NR) and Professional Excellence (PROFEX). The course content aims to provide academic depth and personality oriented applications of the vast subject of science-spirituality.
2. Holistic Excellence (HEX): Targeting the foundational, applied and subtle personality factors enrichment in a person, the course aims to enhance the applications of science-spirituality in the overall well-being of a person be it psychic, physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual paradigms. The course aims to enhance the philosophical and spiritual wisdom of a person along with the science of life guidelines to ensure upon an inner transformation that augments for the creation of personalities with noble character that inspires one and all engaged in the professional and social spheres of the interested delegates. This long-term certificate course called Holistic Excellence (HEX) entails the integration of three Certificate courses namely Foundations of Science-Spirituality (FSS), Professional Excellence (PROFEX) and Philosophical Excellence (PEREX). Thereby, the application in the personal life of an individual can be targeted and achieved by a person after completing this long-term certificate course.
3. Distinction of Human Life (DOHL):   The Long Term Certificate Course on the Distinction of Human Life aims to enhance the philosophical and spiritual foundations of a person based on the vast knowledge elucidated in Bhagavad Gita. The strength of the course is to envisage upon realizing spirituality as the most subjective paradigm of the perfection targeted human thought process. The course aims to fulfill the fundamental mandate of the Bhaktivedanta Institute i.e., to achieve a distinction of human life through the confluence or synthesis of science and spirituality. Deeper explorations of science ensures upon the need for a philosophical analysis and this will be elaborated in both foundations of science and spirituality (FSS) and nature of reality courses (NR).  However, a mere analysis based on philosophical contemplation supported reasoning is not enough. Human quest shall enter the next orbit of excellence i.e., to seek answers for the most fundamental questions associated to the meaning and purpose of life. Associated perplexities in scientific and philosophical dimensions to answer this question will be addressed in the Certificate Course entitled Philosphical Excellence (PHILEX). Hence, the LCC on DOHL entails three courses namely FSS, NR and PHILEX. Those who wish to study this course must have an urge to enhance philosophical worldview, philosophical analysis, spiritual foundations, Vedanta and their synthesis for the answer to the most fundamental quest of human existence namely the ultimate meaning and purpose of life. Thus, the course aims to enhance inner transformation that facilitates harmonizing the self with inner peace based on the synthesis paradigm advocated in the Vedanta and its rich philosophical treatise.
